Hi.And welcome to my practice.

Hi, and welcome to my practice.
My name is Barbara, but most people call me Bar.

I’m a native Californian, raised in a working-class family in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1960s and 70s. Like many families, ours had its struggles. My dad’s criticism was subtle, but constant. My mom wrestled with anger and self-rejection. Being the sensitive soul that I was, those patterns left a deep mark on me.

I can see now that they were doing their best while carrying unhealed pain of their own. Still, their inability to be fully present shaped how I saw myself and how I related to the world. Over time, I carried fear, self-doubt, and disconnection. And I looked for comfort in unhealthy ways, including substance use, which became a big part of my young adult years.

Even in the middle of all that, though, I sensed there was something more. Something deeper calling to me — even if I couldn’t yet name it.

In my late twenties, I reached a breaking point. Emotionally, spiritually, and physically. It became clear that unless something changed, I wasn’t going to survive. Thankfully, in a moment of clarity and grace, I found the courage to ask for help. That was the beginning of what’s become a long and rewarding journey.

Today, after years of healing, study, and the support of community, I understand my purpose: guiding others on their path to self-discovery. I walk alongside those who are ready to do the deep inner work of uncovering and embracing the life that is already theirs to live.

We’re not looking for perfect — ’cause that’s not a thing. We’re looking for real.

And if my story resonates with you, I’d love to invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation. Let’s see if we’re the right fit to begin your journey together.
